Winning submission of the 2025 Massed Choir Festival Composition Competition. Will be premiered in Perth in 2025.
Having watched my daughter sing in multiple Massed Choir festivals, and watched the joy and passion that comes from these young people, I wanted to write a song that captured that essence. Maybe I’m a little too optimistic, maybe I see the world through rose-tinted glasses, but when I look at the younger generations, I see tremendous hope and potential. It is these kids who will be the ones that inspire and amaze us. Many of them are already doing incredible things.
Urie Brofenbrenner said “Every child needs at least one adult who is irrationally crazy about him or her” – I hope through this song, I can pass on to the children that sing it that I am irrationally crazy about each and every one of them – and I know they will do incredible things. I am watching – and I can’t wait to see you all shine!
